The Second Chance Support Group is an independent group which provides education and support to liver and liver/kidney transplant patients* and their caregivers. We share the knowledge of experienced patients in an informal online group setting.**
Weekly Zoom meetings are held each Tuesday at 11:00am Eastern Time. All liver and liver/kidney pre- and post-transplant patients and their caregivers are invited to attend. Meetings are open to Mayo Clinic Jacksonville and Rochester patients and caregivers.

*Due to the increasing number of kidney transplants performed at Mayo Clinic, kidney-only transplant patients and their caregivers now have their own support group; the Kidney Education and Support Group. We welcome kidney transplant patients who have previously joined Second Chance to continue being part of the group.
**With the current conditions and precautions concerning COVID-19, all in-person support group meetings are on hold until further notice.
Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19, our group would get together weekly and monthly social outings. Even though we are not currently having group social events, we encourage patients and their caregivers to reach out to others in the group for support and education through our Facebook page. If you are fully vaccinated against COVID and wear a mask when appropriate , small in-person gatherings can also be very helpful.
If you have any questions about our group, please contact Kristin Corlett.
Our Facebook group is open to anyone who is either a liver or liver/kidney transplant patient or their caregiver. Members must also be either in the process of being evaluated for transplant, be listed for transplant, or have been transplanted at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville. In addition to the Facebook group, we have a membership directory with contact information of our group members.
Our Facebook group is private and you must ask to join. Click here to join or log in to Facebook, search for "Second Chance Support Group of Jacksonville" and click "Join Group."
